Chiara Blackerman
Chiara has been dancing for 18 years in various styles, including jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, musical theater/novelty, and more. She has extensive experience working with competitions, dance stores and conventions, and danced on a cruise ship dating back to 2013 on the “Oasis of the Seas”. She also flew to De Panne, Belgium, to compete as a IDO Team Canada Dance Member who received a silver medal in Ballet. Dance has given Chiara the opportunity to travel and train abroad. She has taken private lessons with cast members of Hamilton and several Broadway Rockettes, as well as classes at Harbor Dance Centre (Vancouver), Underground (Toronto) and Broadway Dance Centre in New York. She has also attended/participated in several dance related opportunities.
She began as an instructor assistant and demonstrator before completing her mentorship and graduating from Shelley’s Dance Company. This experience prepared her for sharing her passion and love of dance with younger generations, both in school and in the studios she teaches at! After graduating, she continued to work as an Education Assistant with ASD children in Interactions classrooms, where she received a divisional award! When not teaching dance at school you will find Chiara dedicated to her dance studio night life. Her ultimate goal is to have a studio of her own. Chiara remains dedicated to always bettering herself and ensuring that everyone around her feels supported and encouraged.
