Rebecca SadowskiRebecca is a Métis/queer performer and teacher based in amiskwacîwâskahikan and has been sharing her love of dance with school communities through dancED for over ten years. Rebecca has worked as a choreographer and performer with many dance and theatre companies across Canada including Punctuate Theatre, Savage Society, Thou Art Here Theatre, Edmonton Fringe Theatre, Skirtsafire Festival, Northern Light Theatre, and Alberta Aboriginal Arts. Rebecca has danced as a member of the Good Women Dance Collective, and has curated dance programming for several festivals including the Nextfest Festival. Rebecca has produced several dance films including "The Sash Maker" with Native Earth Performing Arts, as well as "Breaking Baptist" with the Catalyst Theatre. Rebecca has a passion for sharing Indigenous narratives and historic arts and has fond memories of dancing as an interpreter at Fort Edmonton Park. She strives to decolonize spaces and continues to deepen her connection to her Métis roots by jigging, attending ceremony, and learning traditional fibre art.
